Are you guys familiar with Dean & Grace yet? They are an amazing duo of stay-at-home moms turned entrepreneurs. They were tired of the endless toddler meltdowns we have all experienced from time to time while shopping with our littles. Dean & Grace is a text based auction shopping option. Their company, Dean & Grace, sends text message pictures to parents who have opted-in to their shopping club. The text contains a picture of an outfit, along with a brief description including size and price. Customers can reply back with a text to place an order.
“As a mom, I always have my phone on me,” says Co-Owner Sara Peak. “To me, there could not possibly be an easier way to shop than through text. It’s fast…it’s easy…it’s lazy, and I love it.”
Signing up to receive texts is free and can be done through the company’s website, www.deanandgrace.com, or by simply texting “Joindg” to 76000 from a mobile phone (check you’re your carrier to see if data or message rates may apply). Parents choose their child’s size and gender so they only receive messages appropriate to their needs.
“We want to do the hard work for the parents, and let shopping be fun again,” says Co-Owner Whitney Nordmoe. “We find unique and quality outfits, send a picture of it out to our members, and even provide free shipping right to their doorstep. It couldn’t get easier.”
Dean & Grace works on the new auction-based shopping format, similar to Facebook auction sales, in which quantities are limited. “When we text a picture out, we have limited quantities of each item,” says Peak. “The first to reply are the ones whose orders are fulfilled.”
I love the Masala Baby shirt I received for Landon. Not only is the quality amazing, it could easily go from an afternoon at the park to dinner in the evening. The pattern was perfect for hiding those pesky juice and grass stains two-year-olds seem to magically appear. I can't wait to order our next item!
