Dear Landon : 11 Months

Landon,
Another month has come and gone.
This marks my 6th letter I am writing you. I regret not doing this from the first month you were born. May 3, 2012 you turned 11 months, only one more month to go before you reach a year. It is still hard at times for me to fathom that you are leaving the baby phase and entering the toddler stage. Just this week I was looking back at your monthly photos and couldn't help but feel a wave of sadness come over me. I feel like just yesterday you were swaddled like a burrito cooing on my chest as we met for the first time.

You still only have your two top teeth and two bottom teeth. They still aren't completely in. I like to call you developmentally challenged in the tooth department. But, that's ok. What you lack in teeth, you make up in other areas.

Your new favorite toy is your play tunnel. I have it set up where you can crawl through the tunnel into your circus tent. You squeal with happiness and tease Bella to come and chase you.

You are becoming quite the walker these days. You will take about 6-8 steps then laugh and fall. You love to walk around everywhere and beam with excitement when anyone notices what you have done. I just knew you would be walking by your 1st Birthday! I am SO proud of you.

You have now gone back to a more "normal" sleep schedule. Usually going to bed after you have your bath and your last bottle at 8:00 p.m. and wake up at sigh 5:30 a.m. Eat and go back to sleep until 7:00 a.m.

Your new favorite "activity" I will call it, is testing your limits. Example, I give you some puffs on your high chair tray. You immediately look me stone cold, dead in the eye and throw them on the ground. Followed my a small smirk. The old adage "Patience is a Virtue" has never rang truer.

This month you have become super talkative. You have mama and dada down pretty well. Now you have started picking up on the phrase "I'm good" which actually sounds more like "I goo". You say it All. The. Time. Especially when you are not "goo" and you know it. Even when you are drinking your bottle you will stop half way through and scream a random assortment of babble.

My favorite thing you are doing as of late is your "kisses". You give me the most which makes me even happier. (Sorry, Rey) Let's discuss your form of kissing. Which is actually you opening your mouth, sticking out your tongue and licking the other persons mouth-nose region. Sidenote: You actually did this to the random lady that bought your bouncy off of craigslist yesterday. We have to work on probably not doing that to strangers.

I am happy to say you have tried so many new foods this month and will now pick up stuff and put in in your mouth on your own. Quiet the feat for you, mister.  I am so glad you are out of the picky food stage. SO much easier with you this way! Just to name a few, you have tried turkey, ice cream, chicken, blueberries, raisins, chex cereal and vanilla oreos ( I know, not the best, but whatever. You loved them and looked super cute while eating them.)

You have gained a pound since last month weighing in at 25 lbs. You are a total biggin' with your enormous hands and feet.

Somehow you are still wearing 6-12 month clothing and size 3 diapers.

Last month you would tolerate your shoes. This month you are back to kicking and pulling them off in anger which is usually followed by you chewing on them.

You hair is growing so fast! You will need another hair cut before your birthday. Gotta look fresh for your big day. It's still a combination of light brown and dark blond. Which still baffles me. No clue where that came from. But it looks gorgeous on you, not gonna lie.

Your eyes are still a grayish blue shade and change depending on what you wear. You are welcome for that.

You are yet to go through the separation anxiety phase. Although, you aren't as smiley to strangers as you used to be. But, you are still o.k. with pretty much anyone holding you.

Landon, I love you so much more than you will ever know. You make my heart soar with happiness each day I see you grow and change. I can't wait for what the next year will bring us.
I love you my bubbas.

xoxo,
mama.

I think you have a wonderful idea going on, I think when I have children one day I may keep a log/diary of their day to day life and activities.
