After looking through the options of songs I chose two. One that reminds me when I was working one of my first full-time jobs and the other of course reminds me of my favorite season, summer. 

What better way to put my Coca-Cola to use than to bake a delicious Coca-Cola cake!

Ingredients

Cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 eggs

2 cups white sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup butter

1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows

3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 cup Coca-Cola

1/2 cup buttermilk

Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
6 tablespoons Coca-Cola
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 Cup chopped pecans


Directions

1. Combine flour and white sugar in mixing bowl. Heat 1 cup butter, 3 tablespoons cocoa, and 1 cup cola soft drink to boiling and pour over the flour and sugar. Mix thoroughly.
2. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, vanilla, and marshmallows and mix well.
3. Bake in a prepared 9 by 13 inch pan for 40 minutes at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
4. While still hot, frost with Coco Cola Frosting: Combine 1/2 cup butter or margarine, 2 tablespoons cocoa and 6 tablespoons cola soft drink and heat to boiling. Pour over 4 cups confectioners' sugar and mix well. Mix in chopped nuts and spread over hot cake.

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette ~ Beachy Waves

You may remember this post from a few weeks ago. I've been using all of these products for the past few weeks and am loving the texture, color and all around condition of my hair! I love being able to achieve a high end salon look without spending a ton of money!

 With summer fast approaching I wanted to share my favorite go to summer hair look. I have always been a huge fan of the beachy wave look and have got it down to a science now without even having to step foot in the sand!

 

When creating my beachy waves I like to start out with clean, dry hair. After washing my hair I spray John Frieda Sea Waves™  over my entire head and allow my hair air dry over night because my hair tends to have a natural wave to it when it is air dried.

When I wake up the next morning I set my curling wand to the highest setting. My hair is on the thicker side so I have to use the highest heat setting.

 

I then go through my hair and randomly select pieces to start twirling around the wand. I try not to curl much of the end of my hair and generally just curl the top and leave the ends straight. 

 I keep wrapping my hair around the wand throughout my entire head until I achieve the wave I am looking for. Depending on my mood (or how much time I have) I only curl a few pieces around the front of my face. 

I then flip my head over and shake out any tight curls that may have formed and spray Keraforce™ Intense Hold Hairspray all over and I am good to go!

And just like that, I am ready for a day at the beach, pool or shopping with friends!
