i wear a lot of hats. that's not a mystery. or a riddle. or a secret. the other day at sam's club even the guy in the optical department noticed my hat love. "i would love to see your hat collection. you must have a ton!" "um. thanks. k bye. i'm kinda in a hurry. gotta pick up a gallon of ring pops and a vat of cheddar cheese but, thanks for noticing!"

i woke up thinking today was friday. it in fact is not. it's thursday. which means tomorrow is friday and not today. you're welcome for that bit of information. this week has kinda been crazy town over here. between toddler meltdowns on the regular and there was the evening i left him in the bathtub for thirty four seconds to go run put something in the oven. only to return to what i would compare to as the titanic crashing and flooding my bathroom floor. because, you know. how dare i leave him for said thirty four seconds to try and attempt to feed myself. thank god for fridays. and beer.

is it just me or do barns and bales of hay make photos that much better? rey pulled over on the side of the road somewhere in georgia or  maybe it was north carolina? i know for sure we weren't in florida. mainly because i had on layers and it didn't feel like i was in a sauna.

every october we venture to north carolina with my parents. it's always a nice getaway from the florida heat, a slower change of pace and i always look forward to seeing the leaves change and the mountains. you know, things us floridians never experience. now it's back to reality. landon was clearly on vacation mode still this morning when i had to wake him up for school. didn't want to budge from the comfort of his bed. pouring a cup of cold water over his head always does the trick. kidding. maybe.

i love tying a flannel around my waist. it takes me back to my childhood. makes your waist appear smaller and you get to layer in the florida heat without actually layering.

what better item for the first day of october than a flannel? better yet, when you live in florida, a flannel that is a tank. it does kinda defeat the purpose that a flannel was intended for, on the other hand i'm not sweating as much while i put my halloween decor up. either way, my favorite holidays lie ahead and i can't wait. bring on all the layers.
