art of animation // 94

for my birthday we spent the weekend at the art of animation resort at disney. it's funny, the older i get i tend to celebrate my birthday geared towards landon. it made me happy to see him happy. and when he's happy everyone's happy. kidding. kinda. but come on, you have to agree, a non-meltdown day is always a good day.

if you are ever in orlando i definitely suggest checking out the art of animation resort. the rooms are the cutest. ever. we stayed in the little mermaid room but they have rooms decorated lion king, finding nemo and cars. they also have a finding nemo themed pool and if you go underwater you can hear dory searching for nemo. so. dang cute. we also spent some time at the parks burning calories but, mainly our skin. and maybe had one. ok two beers. and a margarita. oh. and a cronut. or three.

greedy // 93

about a year ago i found a twenty dollar bill shining it's pretty little face up at me at the same location these photos were taken. being greedy, i hoped it would happen a second time. my eyes scanned the pavers, then the rotting wood and finally the fence that i'm fairly certain you need a tetanus shot if you come within a mile radius. of course all i found was a wadded up 7-11 receipt, half eaten bag of cheetos and something that resembled a ninja turtle action figure. like they say "you find money when you least expect it." actually, maybe that's love or your lost car keys. oh wait. no. the lost car keys are the last place you look. either way. no money was found.

carded // 91

my birthday is friday. i turn thirty-one. wait. no. thirty-two. i forget my age. a lot. probably more than i care to admit, guess that comes with old age. turning my age i have become used to not getting carded. usually they carefully study my face and say yep. she passed the non legal territory years ago. or they see landon and assume i'm old. hey. ever heard of sixteen and pregnant?  when i got id'd last week at a local restaurant i gladly handed over my id. the server proclaimed "wow! you look so young! i never would have guessed you were that old." now, looking back, could be a backhanded compliment. either way. i'm gonna take it and run with it just like these wrinkles on my face are doing.

p.s. yes this is the same dress i wore in my last post. sometimes i wear the same outfit two times a week. ok. three.

i love a good ankle boot and by good i mean target boots that knockoff the sam edelman petty. one day i'll get the real deal. for now this twenty-eight dollar pair will do just fine. until it's noon and my feet feel like a small baby swamp and i am forced to remove them. other than that all is well. have a great monday.

guest blogger // caroline // 89

last week my cousin and her family stayed with us for my brothers wedding. she has an adorable seven year old, caroline that is obsessed with all things fashion. we even had our own dress up day where she picked out outfits for me, down to the shoes and accessories. not having a daughter of my own, this made my day. we had so much fun and i wish they lived closer so we could play fashion show all the time. check out caroline in one of her many looks. hope you all are having a great weekend!

hatted // 88

i love hats. if you know me that's no shocker. when i found this particular one on sale for ten dollars.  one alexander hamiliton  (not gonna lie. had to google who was on the ten dollar bill). she was the perfect match for my hat collection. it's felt. it's big. it's boxy. and it's the perfect shade to transition into fall. also, it perfectly hides that third, ok maybe fourth day of unwashed hair. happy wednesday. go out there and put your best hat forward.
