Previse // 53

For the past couple of years I have been on the search for the perfect skin care regime. It seems like the day I turned 30 my skin did a 360°. I went from having it easy and not needing to remove that end of day make up to dried out patches and break outs. Thankfully I was approached my Previse and I'm happy to say my skin is starting to make a turn for the better! I love a three-step approach to a skin cleanser. In order to determine your skin-type Previse offers a personal skin care consultation via their website. It's easy as one, two, three. After my consultation I was notified I am skin-type 2.

The first step is Purify which is a daily-use solution that contains natural botanicals that clean your skin without the use of harsh detergents. This step gets your skin prepared for nourishment. What I enjoyed most about this step is how soft and smooth it left my skin feeling. I tried this step at the end of my shower and stepped out feeling refreshed.

Next up was step 2, Nutrify. This step is Previse's closely guarded recipe containing high grade ingredients to fight oxidation and promote cellular regeneration which is super important the more mature in age we become. Just like all of Previse's products, Nutrify is free of paragons, silicones and skin clogging ingredients. I love the packaging of this glass dropper bottle. It gives the feel of a spa day in the comfort of your bathroom.

The third, and final step of my regime was Defend. Defend is a before sun solution used to prevent skin damage from sun exposure.  Living in Florida this step was super important for me. Not only is the smell refreshing it left my skin glowing and reminded me of my pre-thirties skin.

I have only been using the Previse  three-step for four days now but I definitely see a noticable difference. My dry patches are smoothing over and my acne spots are starting to diminish. I can't wait to see the results after using for a few weeks. This regime is takes me less than 3 minutes to apply which is important for a mother on the go! Check out Previse here and try some of their products for yourself.

skinnyPOP // 52

last week when i was checking out at publix the bagger asked "are you going to the beach?" i looked down at what i was wearing thinking to myself "i guess you could wear this to the beach?" "oh. no. i wish." i replied. "are you on vacation?" "um nope. no vacation either." "ohhh. i was just looking at what you were buying and thought maybe you were." i guess purchasing popsicles, popcorn, sugar cookies and an avocado classifies you as a beach goer. i realize i buy crap.  thanks for pointing it out.

side note: i might of finished that bag of popcorn on my drive home. i mean. it's called skinnypop for a reason.

floral // 51

i wore this dress on easter and didn't wear much jewelry with it since the floral print is pretty bold. which is odd for me. usually i pile on the baubles. not a day goes by that at least one person doesn't notice my piled on bracelets. "wow, you wear a lot of jewelry!" yes. yes i do. thanks for noticing.

feathered // 49

i love a good hair accessory. and i love feathers. when those two worlds collide it's perfection in my atmosphere. until your toddler thinks it's a toy to lasso the dog with and you spend thirty minutes chasing your toddler and dog around the house. out the back patio. back to the front door.
only to realize you have once again been locked out of your own house by your child. at least you still have your feathers.

sicklings // 48

if i hear one more cough, sneeze, sniffle, clearing of the throat. any sort of tissue being pulled out of a tissue box. i may flip out. it started with landon having a cold three weeks ago, the following week he had a double ear infection, the week after that pink eye. in both eyes. and now i have some sort of condition that feels like little army men are stabbing me in the throat with little tiny razor sharp swords. it's really amazing. maybe one day we will all return to a healthy state. that one day probably won't be until may 21. landon's last day of preschool. until then we have to continue the battle. can't let those nasty preschool germs get the best of us.

tagged // 47

i wore this the other day to starbucks. in between juggling a thirty-three pound toddler, a venti coffee, morning bun and a banana a man approached me. you know those groups of men that gather at starbucks each morning. they stare. talk loudly. take up all the tables so you have no where to sit. you know who i'm talking about. each starbucks has their own pack. it's like they are on the menu. anyways. one of these men approached me:
"hi, you have the tag still on your shirt and it's hanging out."
"ohh thanks! yeah. that's what i get for getting dressed in the dark while landon sleeps."
"ok. is it ok if i rip it off for you?" he says this while ripping it off.
"uhhhh. sure, thanks"
he responds "wow, that's embarrassing. like really embarrassing.wow."
"ok. thanks. bye."
as i walk to my car i can't help but think was it really that embarrassing? is it weird that i wasn't even remotely embarrassed? it's not like i had a pair of underwear hanging out from my shirt." which has definitely, probably happened to me. but, that's a tale for an entirely different day.

not so sneaky // 44

i feel slightly guilty. yesterday, landon and i were at home doing our daily routine. nothing out of the ordinary. he complaining about some train not working or why is doc mcstuffins on for the thirty seventh time today. me. i decided to sit down and have lunch. and by lunch i mean a reese's peanut butter egg. parents, you know the drill. as soon as you sit down, they follow. they sense you opening that reese's cup. "mommy! mommy i have some?" usually i say yes and share. not this time. i shoved that sucker in my mouth quicker than a jack rabbit hopping down the street. he just stared. then turned around and kept playing with his puzzles. i slowly chewed that reese's egg. with each chew i felt the guilt creeping up. ugh. maybe i should have gave him a bite? i mean, i do have twelve others sitting on the counter. thirty minutes later all that remained was a two-year-old chocolate faced and wrappers sitting in the dust. let's face it. being a parent means always sharing your reese's peanut butter egg.

air dried // 43

i added some blondies to my hair last week. changing it up to a more spring/summer edition. i was also reminded exactly how long my hair is and what she looks like when blow dried. the next day. ok. who am i kidding. the next week when i washed my hair i considered drying it myself instead of my usual air drying technique. then i got distracted by real housewives of beverly hills and a bowl of starburst jellybeans. my hair can be dried on it's own. real housewives and jellybeans call for ones undivided attention.
