christmas past

christmas has come. and gone. i spent my christmas day parked nearby my parents restroom. i mean. why wouldn't i get a stomach virus of my most favorite holiday of the year? sounds about right. on a positive note, i had been wanting to lose five pounds to start the new year off. just got a little head start on it.

wrap. facebook. instagram. repeat

can we talk about gift wrapping? when you are at target grabbing all of the pretty paper, bows, "ooh those bells will look gorgeous perched upon my gifts!!" seems like all fun and games. then you get home. set out all your pretty little purchases to admire. sit down on the floor. open that roll of paper and begin trying to lay it out flat. why is this such a battle? can't you just lay flat for the .34 seconds it takes me to grab the gift i want to wrap you in? landon then comes running in. "oooh scissors!" grabs those and runs off like he's training for a marathon. track down said scissors. assume the position once again. fourty-five minutes later i have successfully wrapped one and a half gifts. checked facebook three times. instagram five and refilled my water bottle.
next year i'll just stick to gift bags.
maybe.
probably not.

Kushyfoot

I am constantly on the search for great shape wear and leg wear. When I was approached to try out the new Fall-Winter 2013-2014 Kushyfoot line I was super excited to experiment with a new product. First, I tested the Flats To Go. This product is amazing for the girl on the go. They easily fold into your purse as you are headed out the door. I am always out and about with my toddler and these were perfect when my feet started aching by mid-morning. I just pulled them out of my purse. Slipped them on my feet and continued on my merry way perusing the aisles of Target. The padded built in sole offers cushioned comfort and one of my favorite features was the case they come in doubles as a carrying case you can store in your bag. They also come in numerous colors, textures and patterns. Convenient, cute and comfortable!

The next product I was eager to test out was the Kushyfoot Microfiber Crew Sock. I rarely wear socks. I hate the feeling of being crammed in my shoes by some confining, too thick pair of socks. These socks did not disappoint. They are thin enough I can wear them with my boots without sweating in the Florida heat. Yet warm enough to wear in the evening and keep my toes nice and toasty. My favorite feature these socks offer is the padded sole. It was kinda life changing. It eased my end of day fatigued feet while massaging my soles as I walked. I will definitely be wearing these socks this weekend when we are shooting our next wedding!

You can check out Kushyfoot here and see for yourself. They are available in over 10,000 stores around the nation and online, and in more than 50 comfort based styles, they deliver unheard of comfort and high-end quality at affordable price points ranging from $3.99 to $9.99. They even offer men's socks and liners! Socks are always a great stocking stuffer this time of year! Check them out. You won't be disappointed.

countdown

i can't believe there are only thirteen days until christmas. i think it's thirteen? don't quote me on that. i was a c student in math and a good majority of the time i still use my fingers to count on. i think i'm ready for christmas. most of my shopping i did online which resulted in a headache and purchasing a few treasures for myself. like i always say "no one knows what you want for christmas quite like yourself."

winter wishing

i keep seeing all these instagrams of snow filled front lawns, curled up on the couch near a roaring fire accompanied by a hot chocolate. you know the photos i'm speaking of. my favorite is the one of a girl wearing knee socks with one leg tucked under the other while casually holding her mug of whatever warm beverage she chooses. jealous. that's what i am. i'm all here in florida eagerly wishing that maybe, just maybe on wednesday the high will be 75. have fun on your sleds and building snow angels. do you even build a snow angel? see. that's how little i know about snow.

find a dollar, pick it up

find a dollar, pick it up. or, in my case, a twenty. after all the fields and abandoned buildings rey has drug me to, finally, just this once it paid off. literally. in the form of cash. not how he usually rewards me with a donut if i'm on my best behavior while driving around with him searching for hashtag morninautos. moral of the story. if you find a dollar, pick it up...however, if you find a twenty you snatch that thing and don't look back. just grab and casually walk away. shifty eyes and looking back and forth are the first signs of doing something you probably shouldn't be. trust me. i would know.

a flannel a day

how does the saying go? a flannel a day keeps the doctor away. or maybe i'm just a hoarder of all things plaid. either way. i love a good flannel. and don't believe that "keeps the doctor away"part. i currently have what i refer to as the preschool plague. hits these parts about once a month. sometimes twice, if we are lucky. maybe next time instead of tying it around my waste i'll use it as a face mask while picking landon up from school.

roadside

see that creepy house behind me? i'm pretty sure that's where the blair witch project was filmed. if the blair witch project was filmed in an abandoned house on the side of the road in debary, florida. and let's just talk about how rey was all like "go walk through those weeds and stand in front of the house." i promptly rolled my eyes and advised him "why don't you clear a path for me and make sure all the rattlesnakes are gone and i'll follow." as you can judge by these photos he declined.

the pits

i wore this cardigan, or is it called something else? i think a cardigan has to include buttons. i digress. i wore this cardigan slash floor length sweater item on thanksgiving day. roughly 12 hours after prancing around town, eating my body weight in turkey and  broccoli casserole do i realize i have a huge hole in my arm pit. like huge enough where i could tickle my own arm pit if i chose so. good thing rey is the seamstress of the house. another skill i have yet to acquire. that. and ironing.
