it's jake!

saturday we took landon to trunk or treat at our church. it's trick or treating but with car trunks. which is probably why they call it "trunk or treat". he dressed as jake from jake and the neverland pirates. i assumed there would be tons of kids dressed as jake, surprisingly he was the only one and kids kept walking by him pointing and saying "hey! it's jake!". probably cuz of his adorable face, he's known to stand out in a crowd. :) he had so much fun. anything with screaming kids, even louder parents and inflatables is right up his alley. at one point he was the only kid left in the bounce house and rey had to climb in after him. yes. we were those parents dragging the screaming kid out of the princess castle bouncy house and forever chasing him trying to keep that wig on his head. happy almost halloween!

{my own bubble}

and some days you are outside taking photos and it starts to rain. good thing i always make it a habit to have my trusty bubble umbrella with me. makes me feel all fancy and european. because, fanciness and europeaness go hand and hand.

{fallin knee-high}

remember that time two days ago when i said i wouldn't speak of fall anymore? i have a problem. couldn't even last a measly forty-eight hours. rey and i were shooting fall family sessions on sunday and decided i would partake in some of the action. someone needed to test drive the new fall bunting. that someone turned out to be me.

{a flannel a day}

i go through short obsessions with items. a few weeks ago it was booties. now it's lace with flannels next week it might be top hats. i'm crazy like that. i'll wear them non-stop for a few weeks then throw it in the back of my closet to be found seasons later when i'm digging for that one shirt. you know the one. i know it was back here somewhere...

{fall at it's finest}

  are you tired of seeing photos of leaves and staged walks through winding streets all while holding hands with a baby strategically placed upon our shoulders? that's good. because this one still has all of that but with some corn mazes and ponies.
happy monday!

it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown

one of the activities we partook in on our extended north carolina weekend was the "it's the great pumpkin, charlie brown" tour upon the great smoky mountain railroad. we took this railway tour last year and it's a super fun fall activity for the entire family. the train ride is a gorgeous scenic tour complete with screaming children begging their parents for naps and to run around wildly through the train cars at their own free will. kidding. it was gorgeous. but. there were plenty of crying children. mine not being one of them. okay. kidding again. he cried the fifteen minutes we sat waiting for the train to even start. but then was a complete angel baby the rest of the trip. a lolly bribe and some 'nilla wafers may or may not of helped that situation.
