i wore this into starbucks the other day and one of the old men that sit and
"people watch" aka be creepers each morning drinking their black coffee with no sugar. i don't really know what he drinks i just like to imagine that all old men drink their coffee black with no sugar since my own grandfather does so why would this man be any different? back to the subject at hand. said elderly man commented to me "oh you changed your look today". i thought he was referring to my goth cowgirl ensemble. so with a confused look i just shook my head and said "oh, yeah, i don't wear black a lot." he then replied "i meant you don't have the baby with you." i then pretended i knew that's what he meant all along when the barista called my name. saved by the caramel macchiato once again.

field day

remember field day in elementary school? those were the days. (pardon my 80 year old "those were the days" also excuse my use of pardon)  you were so excited to wake up and put on your team colors and play a fierce game egg toss. ok i got a tad off subject. this post has nothing to do with outdoor youth competitions. 

over the weekend we stayed at the all-star sports resort as a part of our end of summer staycation. they have a mock up football field where there were tons of kids running and playing. rey and i thought it would be a great place for landon to run around and enjoy being free. wrong. instead. it was like trying to corral a small but fast baby calf. instead of wanting to play in the padded grass he chose the concrete and rock solid stairs to climb. i looked around wondering if any other parents were having this issue. no. we were the only ones sweating and running around. all the other children were content playing as they were. not ours. 

such is life. i wouldn't trade him for the world.

anyone else wishing the days of summer would turn into pumpkin spice lattes, chili and a good horror movie? good luck if you live in florida. which is where i live. so, jokes on me. it won't be "fall" here for another 3 months. if that. that's the price you pay for living in the land of mickey mouse, daytona beach and the elderly. that is what everyone else thinks florida consists of, right?

it's like san francisco, but not

rey took me to san francisco on friday. and by taking me to san francisco i mean we both walked through the backlot of the pretend san francisco at hollywood studios. there was even a slight breeze on that cardboard street, that or a tourist swiftly ran past me. either way. in my mind we were in san fran on the steps of the full house, house. even if it was for the slightest moment.

this weekend we scooped landon up to take him on a disney adventure. more on that later in the week. friday night it rained like crazy but we still managed to have some fun. happy monday!

as cliche as the saying is. it's the truth. yesterday started out with a bang. landon was finally getting over the virus he had been battling all week and was finally able to eat something. i gave him one of his favorites, bananas and blueberries. he ate it right up with ease. i then put him down so he could go play when he turns, looked up at me and projectile vomited all over the floor. i ran to grab a towel to clean it up, within those 8 seconds he began playing in said vomit and then slipped in it. i then had to strip him down, during that process his diaper needed to be changed. go clean him up and decide a bath would be the best bet. i then place him in the tub where he begins to "use the facilities" to put it nicely in the tub. i grab him out of the tub to rinse the tub out. before i can even do that he runs into my living room and pees on the floor. so yeah. when it rains, it definitely pours. but. in other good news i'm still alive to share such a lovely tale.

a day older. a day wiser

i had such a fantastic birthday yesterday. i was able to spend it surrounded by the people that mean the most to me. landon had been sick for most of the week and finally started feeling better so we were able to get out of the house and eat delicious donuts and do a little retail therapy. getting old doesn't have to be a bad thing.

guys. i turned 30 today. 

1. today i am 30.
2. i am double jointed in my left thumb.
3. i have a oval shaped light brown birthmark on my inner right ankle.
4. i have a nearly 15 month old.
5. i dated rey for 3 months before we got engaged.
6. we were good friends before ever dating.
7. we have been married 4 years now.
8. i've been to paris once and would love to go back.
9. i can't ride a bicycle. i attempted as a child but it never struck my fancy. such a weirdo.
10. i have 3 tattoos.
11. i had braces twice as a child. 
12. my eyes are hazel and change depending on what i wear.
13. i hate drinking drinks without a straw.
14. i only drive shoeless. 
15. i have one younger brother.
16. i have a cupcake addition.
17. green is my favorite color.
18. i am obsessed with christmas. it's my favorite day out of the year.
19. i love being a mom. landon is what completes my past 30 years.
20. i have an amazing family that i wouldn't trade the world for.

do you remember that disney song? zip-a-dee-doo-dah? wearing this skirt reminds me of that song and the line "mister blue bird on my shoulder". which, really now that i think about it, makes no sense. there is no bluebird on my shoulder. only scattered across my skirt which is no where near my shoulder. either way. there are bluebirds on my skirt. and wearing bluebirds makes me want to meander through my neighborhood while casually sipping a coke with a paper straw. 

sidenote: you make have noticed i gave the blog a mini facelift over the weekend. guys, i turn 30 wednesday. i figure if i can't give myself a facelift someone else should benefit.
