One year. One blog.

2011 was a year full of firsts for the Lorenzo household.  I rang in the New Year from the comfort of my parents couch with Rey and my brother as we watched 'Rockin' New Years Eve' on MTV. There isn't really much you can do on New Years when you are pregnant. You don't want to be "that girl" at the bar, that's never a good look.
February flew by in a blur as we prepared for the arrival of our baby boy. Getting everything perfect for his nursery.
March, we celebrated our third wedding anniversary.
April, I had my adorable baby shower thrown by my mother and my closets friends.
That brings us to May, I remember that month consisted of numerous doctors appointments and trying to get in as much time with Rey before we became a family of three.
June, my favorite month of the year, our baby boy Landon Alexander Lorenzo was born June 3, 2011, 6:57 a.m. weighing 6 lbs. 14oz 19 inches long. That by far has been the greatest day-accomplishment of my life thus far. No words can describe the feeling a mother gets when you welcome your baby into the world. Best. Feeling. Ever. June went by with a snap of a finger and we were onto July.
July, we celebrated Rey's 30th birthday.
August brings us to my 29th birthday.
By September we were starting to the the whole parenting thing down and we were finally able to get a full nights rest.
October, we took Landon on his first road trip to North Carolina, he visited his first pumpkin patch, and celebrated his first Halloween dressed as Woody and I as Jessie from Toy Story.
November, Landon celebrated his first Thanksgiving and visited his first of many Santa's that he would see in the next coming month.
We end the year with the busiest month of them all, we started the month with the Festival of Trees, ventured to Key Largo to the Ocean Reef Club, Landon visited a variety of Santa's and attended numerous Christmas activities. We ended the month with my favorite holiday of them all, Christmas, celebrating our first time as a family of three.
2011 has been my favorite year to date, it was good to me. It taught me how to be a better wife, a better mother and a better friend. I'm not saying every day was always perfect, I had bad days..maybe even weeks.  But at the end of the day it made me who I am today and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Here's to 2012, you have big shoes to fill!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day myself, Rey, Landon, my parents, brother, my Uncle Donnie, Sue and my Grandfather all gathered at my parents house. We started the morning with mimosas, a delicious breakfast casserole, pumpkin bread and cinnamon rolls to fuel ourselves for the hour or so of gift opening that was soon to begin. After breakfast my mom and I were given the duty of handing out the gifts to everyone. Once all the gifts were in everyone's designated piles we each took turns opening one gift at a time that way we can all see what each person receives. My grandfather has a hard time with this task and always ends up opening his gift before his appointed time. :) I received some great gifts this year which included a new watch, Warby Parker specs, Flowerbomb perfume and an assortment of clothes and gift cards.
Once we were all done opening our gifts we relaxed and watched " A Christmas Story",  I'm sure most of you know that TBS shows it from midnight on Christmas Eve throughout Christmas Day. Later in the afternoon Rey's younger brother and his parents were able to join us for an early Christmas dinner. My mom really outdid herself this time. She usually just makes a turkey and ham but this year she added a rib roast to the menu. It turned out amazing and can't wait for this tradition to carry on for years to come.
This Christmas was the best one I have had year to date. Being able to share this time with my family and now Landon makes me feel so blessed. Landon has brought so much joy and happiness to so many lives in such a short amount of time. I can't imagine life being better than this!
Bring it 2012, let's see if you can out do 2011.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas...

Christmas Eve Rey and I woke up at 6 a.m... no rest for the weary when you have a 6 month old with an internal clock that doesn't turn off even on holidays. We started the day with baking Christmas cookies to take to my parents and Rey's parents house. Rey's family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve which works out perfectly, we can spend Christmas Eve at his parents house and Christmas Day at my family's house. Christmas  Eve evening my family attended Candlelight service at the church I have been going to since I was a little girl, Landon was such a good boy throughout the service. After church we all ventured to Rey's parents house where his family had gathered for Christmas Eve. We spent the evening enjoying family, awesome food and watching Landon open his gifts. He was so happy playing with all of the paper and hitting all of the boxes, squealing with excitement the entire time. It was such a great moment to be able to sit back and watch him. For just being a half a year old he sure does amaze me. I'm fairly certain he is some sort of genius. ;)

'Twas the Night Before the Night Before Christmas...

Two days prior to Christmas my grandfather and his wife flew in from Alabama to celebrate Christmas with us. The entire family, which included myself, Rey, Landon, my brother, parents grandfather and his wife, Sue all went out for a huge family dinner at Buca di Beppo. Followed by a night of driving around Orlando looking at all the gorgeous Christmas lights. Still at the age of 29 it is one of my favorite Christmas traditions to do with my family.
